    How do I remove EXIF data from a photo?

    Does removing metadata reduce photo quality?

    No. For JPEG and PNG this tool removes only the metadata sections of the file and leaves the image data byte-for-byte untouched — no recompression, no quality loss. The photo looks identical, just without the hidden data.

    What exactly gets removed?

    Everything hidden: the GPS location where the photo was taken, the camera or phone model and serial number, capture date and time, owner and copyright names, editing software, and any XMP or IPTC data. What's left is just the picture.

    Is my photo uploaded to a server?

    No. The whole process happens in your browser, on your own device. Your photo is never sent to a server, stored, or shared. Once the page has loaded, it even works offline.

    Why remove metadata before sharing a photo?

    Photos can carry the exact GPS coordinates of where they were taken — which may be your home — plus your device details and timestamps.
